luckily, im being given ~$1500 CAN for christmas. plus my mom will buyoff my futureshop gift cards (550 in all).
i'll be at NCIX this weekend to shop for computer stuff. http://www.ncix.com
i need to know what i should be getting.
NO g80 cards because im waiting for rd600 vs gf8900 (will run dual gpu)
everything else is up for grabs with the 1500.

what do you guys think: B-week cpu, better memory, new motherboard (striker 680i is a rip off and they dont have in9 yet), hard drives, psu? anybody mind helping me here? i'm sure you guys like buying computer parts... i will definitely be buying a new hs for my nb and sb and a hs/ramsinks for my 7900. plus lots of as5 and ceramique.

will tend to hold off on the cooling because i will order stuff from Petra's and jabtech sometime in january.

thank you,
merry christmas!

edit: i know the title sounds very selfish and bragging. my father is buying me a fluke dmm (117) and im looking for a digital thermometer (he owns a appliance store and says that supco sucks, and i wont buy the overpriced fluke monitor)

I would say the rig in your sig is pretty solid so you should save your money and upgrade later
May be a new mobo when DFI release RD600 and 680i any way we will see price relaxation 2 moths after Christmas

Unless you want bragging rights there is no need for an 8900 GTX in SLI mode [the one possible exception might be Flight Simulator X by Micorsoft because I have not seen benchmarks using an nVidea 8800 GTX for that program yet, it is very demanding on both CPU and GPU].

excellent. i'll just buy a NB heatsink; which one is better; hr-05 sli or noctua nh-u6.
my instinct tells me gskill will be onsale on boxing day.
