Anyone noticed this:

http://home.pi.be/~muffels1/intel/FX5900.gif

I'v put the image on my webspace as Nvidia pulled the review :(

The test is done using Detonator 50 driver. The card is tested on a nForce2 board using a AXP3000+.

It can be seen that using 43.51, GF FX 5900Ultra is 10% faster than GF FX 5800 Ultra. When it is tested using Det 50 drivers, the difference rises to 23%.

The FX 5900 Ultra seems to to perform very in floating point calculations compared to early generation of cards.

Might want to hold off buying that R9800Pro ;)

the early silicon was only capable of 250MHz. To provide a decent comparison, Nvidia apparently downclocked a 5800 to the same speed. The thing that knocked out the Chip.de guys was that the 'NV35' managed more than double the frame rate of its still new little brother; 110fps versus 48fps in Q3 Arena using demo001 at 1600 x 1200, 4xAA and 8xAF. You can find the article in German

double the framerate of the 5800 ultra eh?

...nvidia... ts when will they realize that they just keep loosing credibility with this exaggerated hype. just like the 5800 ultra release the big hype will turn into a big dissapointment if you ask me.

Well I'm nog Nvidia fan as such, but I'll hold off my R9700Pro to R9800Pro upgrade for this one.

I think Nvidia has learned from its 5800 mistake.

these bm results are a 5900Ultra (450/850) vs 5800Ultra(500/1000).
If they downclocked the 5800 to the same speed, and the det50 on the 5900 vs 43 on 5800. Then high res with loads of goodies. I think the almost double framerate could be acomplished.

The 5800 takes a big hit when running with "goodies" anabled.

Offcourse realworld benches, with end-user cards will prove everyting.
The good thing about these "high-number" rumors is that it's a good Wake-up call for ATI and others !

Sounds kind of like the preview specs nvidia "leaked" for the nv30... Was'nt it supposed to kill everything in sight?

Ofcourse it's possible, but I prefere to see before believing. Seems they have taken a marketing route of atleast stopping people from buying the competitions products even if they can't get something decent out.

Hmm, looks like NVidia are finally pulling their finger out after the 5800 ultra stuff!

Looks liek some decent competition at last!
