Hi im thinking about building a pc to play games like WoW and Half life, and any others I wana play. About $1000-1,200. This is what I have been thinking:

Please give me some input on this.

it looks pretty good to me. that gpu will handle any game on that display and if you get that e6300 to 3ghz which you should be able to you will have a nice system. the only things i would look into would be nicer peripherals. so maybe a nicer mouse, keyboard, speakers (2.1 or 5.1) and nicer monitor. those will make your gaming just that much more enjoyable.
welcome to xs!!!:welcome: if you have anymore questions feel free to send me a private message.

minus the insufficient PSU, it should be fine. You are going to need 550+ Watts

good point nn. i did not know that the 1950xt needed that much tho. my old antec 450 handled my oced presscot and 7900gt (and 7800gt when i had it) just fine and thats with the nforce4 chip set. mushkin makes a good 550 watt psu. but a ocz 600watt gamexstream would be perfect for your system

Thanks. Im prolly not gunaa go up on the periphials now, because I have to save money. Im going to get better ones later. But what did u have in mind for a better mouse or keyboard? Also would 2.1 speakers really be much better than 2.0? thanks.

I'd grab this PSU instead. Cheaper, modular, and more powerful.

it depends on how nice you want it. i have a g15 keyboard and i love it!!!!! any good logitech mouse like the mx518 would be perfect and yes 2.1 makes a huge difference. the 2.0 has absolutely no base were as the 2.1 has a sub so you can here the explosions and rumble of games. a psu like like this would be better because it is well know and reliable i have one powering my 4200x2 WCG folding computer and it works perfectly.

get a logitech MX500, they're pretty cheap. for gaming, a mouse is more important than a few frames.

the new 3.0 is 800? 1200? 1600dpi?
same as before i think. 400dpi :D although they have improved the sensor!
dpi means jack imo, unless youre going to be doing detailed drawings or something like that
its all about the feel of the mouse, and the IE3.0 is second to none!
on a Steelpad S&S of course with mouse skates :P:P
