i need ram for my backup system, which is this:

-ASUS CUV266 (socket 370 kt266 ddr)
-Pentium III-S 1.4GHz 512 L2 Tualatin
-80GB WDC s.e.
-BFG Ti4600

i am thinking about the twinmos because its pointless for me to get pc3200 or higher due to the kt266 chipset. also, with a price like this (http://www.abysstek.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_24_41_150&products_id=653) and a review like this (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1208) , how can i go wrong?? but i want to be sure there isnt a better ram for my system. thanks

Well, I would recommend considering the pc3200 or better just for future use with any other system you might migrate to. I'm sure you don't plan on keeping that system forever, right? What I'm saying is that system doesn't require it, but later down the road you might get more interested in another system that might require more, and if you've spent the money on that ram, it would end up being a waste with the way prices are right now on ram. Just a suggestion here though.

well, i do have a $3000+ system with an NF7-S and barton 2800+ and what not, and i wont have this system forever, true. but what ram do you suggest thats cheap overclockable then? i mean, pretty soon the pc3200 will be almost totally shadowed by pc3700, so i'm not sure if it's worth getting ddr400. like i said, i do have a better system which runs corsair xms twinx pc3200 (1GB), i just want something for this chipset (kt266) alone

Well, my point was you might not be interested in keeping that system, and the new hardware you purchase will definitely be outdated by the time it reaches your doorstep upon delivery, but looking ahead a little at least you would get more of your money back in the long run by buying something a little more up to date and having the ability to sell it in the classifieds. Pc2700, 2400, and 2100 wouldn't maintain as near the value for resale is the point I'm trying to make.

Try Memoryx.net (http://www.memoryx.net/), Googlegear.com (http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/Home.jsp), and Newegg.com (http://newegg.com/) for some decent prices on memory.:)
