I have tried a few other forums without having any luck in getting my problems solved. I read through the entire post about cutting the 3rd L12 bridge and am wondering if this fixes the multiplier or FSB problems on the Soyo KT-400 mobo. I am running an Athlon 2800+XP Barton and can not change anything (multiplier, FSB) and get my computer to boot. My rig specs are in my sig below. Please help because I am a newbie and really want to get more bang for my buck!

Any suggestions on tweaking my system are greatly appreciated, it's time to learn something new.

What bios are you running? BIOS updates for that board are here (http://www.soyousa.com/downloads/selectresults.php?language=&col1=Motherboard&col2=176&col3=BIOS+Upgrade).

I am running the latest bios, kvx2aa7. Is this a situation where I should cut the 3rd L12 bridge or is this a whole new ball game?

I don't know much about that board, but I wouldn't have thought you'd need to cut a bridge just to be able to change the fsb. Whether the board unlocks multipliers is another matter.

One of the bioses on that site says "Overclock bios", perhaps thats what you want?

I thought about that but that is a BIOS release before they supported Bartons, that's why I haven't tried it.
