these are 1700's number 5 and 6 for me.

the first chip which i have in now i already my best out of the 5 ive tested.

its primed stable at the moment at 2400mhz at 1.8v in the bios and showing 1.73v on bios/mbm readout. This makes it better than my previous 0310 WPMW which could only managed 2377 at the same voltage.

gonna see if i can get this chip any higher before i start testing the other, but i am expecting this chip to be the better one. i am just hoping i dont get any more of these MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION bsod's that both this chip and my previous best have given me, even tough they both passed prime at that speed. gonna shoot for my 1ghz overclock with this chip after ive made absolutely sure im not going to get that dreaded bsod again (because it seems very random and is hard to test for because prime still passes).

p.s. this is all with an SLK900, NF7-S 2.0

just give it some more juice... raised the vcore to 2.1v and oced to the highest stable (~2450mhz) and let it run benches for 36hours or so. runs @ 2.4ghz with 1.8 now

Nice! :D My 0308 SPMW requires 1.9v in BIOS (1.82 in MBM) for Prime95 stable @ 2.4Ghz. I get horrible temps at that voltage though, 57C load with the case open and the HS fan going full whack @ 75CFM. :(

still on the first chip ive now managed 2443mhz primed and stable at 1.85v bios setting /1.76-1.78 mbm/bios reading.

neds more voltage to go higher and anything over 1.85 and temps go through the roof. even at 1.85v temps on this slk900 are reading 65c under load. I think its a bit less than that as this NF7-S 2.0 does seem to read it very high. ill get those temps down a bit after ive done testing the other chip which im sure wont be as good.

i may be able to get my 1ghz overclock after some more burning in but it doesnt look like i can get 2.5 with this cooling. i only have a 49cfm 92mm papst fan on the cpu, and its very quiet (rated at 32dba but does seem very quiet). will have to look into getting a higher cfm fan that doesnt make a lot of noise and i may be able to hit 2.5 then.

time to chuck in the other chip and see how bad it is :p

okedly dokedly

second chip, got scared at first as it wouldnt even do 2.1ghz at default voltage, needed 1.55 (1.53 in mbm) which makes it the worst chip of the lot.

however its now doing 2300 primed and stable at 1.7v (1.63 to 1.66 in mbm). which makes it joint best with the last chip so far so what it does at default voltage really has no bearing on what it will do when you give it more voltage. up we gooooooo...........

*edit* scond chip not quite as good. did 2.4 on 1.8v but didnt want to go any higher on my pc at least. ill see how much i can get for it on ebay as a guaranteed to 2.4ghz chip.

a guy in sweden called arne anka has the same cpu and he have oc'ed it to 2700mhz~ (a little more) with only slk-800 and a 80mm delta. this is at 1.95 vcore i think

ill believe that when i see it with my own eyes. it MAY be possible with the jet engine 80cfm delta AND cold air AND the case wide open, and even then its almost certainly not stable at 2700, he can probably post at 2700 and thats all.

im now at 2443 fully stable with just a low cfm 92mm papst at 1.85v (shows as 1.78-1.79).

ive just ordered one of them 80cfm 80mm deltas to stick on this thing in one last ditch attempt to get 2.5ghz stable. ill use a zalman fanmate to reduce its speed/noise to an acceptable level because i have no doubts it will sound like a hoover at stock speed.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO close!!

im primed and stable at 205.46x12 = 2465.52mhz

0.48mhz away from my first ever 1ghz overclock. bring it on.

good luck finding that superchip Ewok, 2443MHz on air is really good.

:)
good job
now I'm jealous though.
All my 1700+'s topped out about 2300-2400mhz aircooled. I do have one at 2700mhz in my prometia, but darn I wish I could get like 3ghz out of one :)

Sweet, congrats, man!!! :toast: I've had 2504(?) stable on air, with my 2400+ and PAL8045. There's a post in this forum, somewheres. But yours with a 1700+ sounds MUCH more impressive. :slobber: :D

Congrats mate :toast: :)

I have one of these sitting in my machine at the moment but havent had time to push (and at work at the mo :() thats a 0308 SPMW so looking forward to it :)

What voltage is that :)

Ewok

that was 1.93 set in bios, 1.86 in mbm. temps 58c under load. Im still trying to burn it in so maybe get a bit more out of it.
