Running P5WDG2 WS Pro. I have an 8800 GTX in PCI-e x16 slot 1.
I have 2 PCI-e slots (running x16 singly in slot 1 or x8 in both slots if I utilize both).
I also have 2 PCI-X slots.
Should I go with a PCI-X or PCI-e RAID controller? I am not familiar enough with the issues associated with PCI-e bandwidth generally and compared to PCI-X bandwidth to make an educated decision. Could a PCI-e RAID card cause stability issues?
There is also the issue of any PCI-X card being locked to this board for good, since I doubt any other motherboards I get will include PCI-X.
I actually lean toward PCI-X....
