Hey everyone.
I just opened my very first LGA775 and intel board at that.

Turns out the BRAND NEW Evga nv680i board has 2 bent pins on the socket..

What can I do?

**Edit**

I used fine pointed tweezers to bend (nudge) the two pins back into alignment.

Will this work? How are these pins connected to the traces?

please help me out...

they are quite easy to bend to normal position. It's good that they are not too tender. Your board is ready for the CPU-seating
just make sure that it aligns perfectly with the other surrounding pins. then it should be fine

that really sucks brand new out of the box. i think u did a great job bending them back and i think u will be fine cuz they look like they were never bent. alls i can say is try it to see if it works. i dont think it would hurt anything if it didnt work still so its worth a try. good luck

thanks guys....

I am mainly worried about the pins having been bent, and their contacts within the socket being severed or damaged.
a properly aligned pin wont do me any good if it isnt making contact or has a damaged contact.

I will hope for the best lol

Next time try a mechanical pencil (without lead), should be a breeze to straighten the pins with it.
