I very much like the look of this board, but as seems the case with all Intel boards there are the capacitors very close to the CPU socket. A bane for insulation.
Anybody verify use of this board with phase-change?
Cheers

Actually, no, it doesnt suck. Head over to DFI Street and look in their OC Database and see what kind of clocks people are getting with this board... a few guys hit 3800MHz with an E6600 on water, im sure it can go much further with phase and the new BIOS.

The board doesnt suck anymore with the new bios updates its turned into one of the best 975x budget buys. Raju has a thread where his board ran orthos blend at 455fsb with a 6600. Nothing spectacular but still damn good for a 975x board. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=124601
As far as insulation goes, i dont see this board being any different than any of the other intel chipset boards. The insulation is pretty straight foward and there are countless guides on how others insulated their boards.

@ Nosfer@tu : There isn't much more I dislike than an unqualified comment
So nobody can verify they are using this board then?
I consider this board (with its new BIOS) a good find. I will be getting C4 DDR800 to go with it. Although I will overclock I am not in the current extreme league of overclocking, so there are definitely enough settings to play with on the MB.
There is also the fact to consider if I damage the board with my phase-change unit. I can't afford to replace a top-of-line MB.

That doesn't say much for the extent of your knowledge ;)
SexyMF... I'm running that board with my home built single stage. My results are below... it will bench almost anything at 4.586ghz but maxes out at 460fsb X10. I'm not 100% sure it's the board max, but I believe it is. I have a P5B coming to see if I can go higher and will be using a DI tube. It is a :banana::banana::banana::banana: to cut foam to fit around the socket, but not much harder than it was on my P5WD2. I'm using a Chilly1 style mount setup.
Edit: my board is the first rev., the newer ones are supposed to do even better.

Thanks for the reassurance Boshuter. I had read what I could in the Intel forum (here) and it looked positive.
The rig I'm going to get is:
E6600
DFI 975X/G
7950GT 512MB
2x1GB Corsair XMS2 C4 DDR800
Then I can finally put my phase change unit onto it. It doesn't fit onto my ancient Barton2500 socket :(

I believe it will do what you want, at least as far as you can go with single stage. I've seen people get more fsb than mine, but not at X10 multi. I may have been better with vmch/vsfb mods also. The new revisions are supposed to be a little better also.
I'd keep this board, but Harleybro sent me his solid copper mousepot to play with and I'm hoping I'll need 500+ fsb;) I got this board from Dynasty a while back in a trade and now he's buying it back, I'm getting it ready to ship out today :)
