I'd like your opinion on my E6600 o/c and some help if it's possible..

Well with my W/C setup I have it @3.6 (1.5v in bios possibly using lower voltage due to vdroop). I think it can be 1.45-1.475 orthos stable but I haven't check for a long time so I use 1.5 for now to be 100% rock stable and sure.. Anyway I've checked temps even @1.45 and compared to the temps that I list below @1.5 difference is very small (1-2c idle temp)
So now @1.5 my main concern is my idle temps which are 50-52.. I consider them pretty high for W/C, though my load temps are not bad.. (56-57 for gaming doing 3d rendering etc..), and only in Orthos they have reached far more(max 70c) after 6-7 hrs, but that's to be expected under 100% load for such a long time..

So my 2 questions are pretty simple..

Do you consider this idle temp worrying or average for that speed ? I know that it depends on the chip mostly but from your experience what do you think?
Leaving lapping out of the picture (not an option for me) what should I check/do in order to get some decent idle temps @ this speed?
Thanks in advance

Thanks in advanceForget that speed and lower the clock and vcore... (I realize that's not Xtreme) Except for bragging rights do you really think you'll notice or miss 200 MHz? Spend some time looking for the "sweet spot" of your configuration... My 6600 runs all day orthos stable 3.4 @ 1.325 vcore and 38C idle, 54C load on air...When I bump from there, temps go to hell...

I guess it's a matter of what your looking for.... :)

It seems that most of C2D mobos may report temps a bit higher that they really are, so you probably aren`t getting 54C idles for real :)

even though its water, 1.5v creates alot of heat. alot....
and what heatsink are you using and what radiator ?
and did you heck the flatness of the IHS of the cpu ?

I concur with pcdoc, 200mhz is negligable, drop vcore and enjoy some cool temps, have mine running at 3.2Ghz and when I compare encoding results to guys running at 3.6Ghz it really is negligable, whats in a few seconds:LOL:
