from MSI's own site:

"The P6N SLI Platinum will soon be out in the market around the end of December"

"Please look forward to our upcoming products this December. Make way for an amazing experience with MSI's latest SLI Intel Platform!"

I love MSI boards, and I love the way they look. Love the company too, but lately their boards have all sucked upon release.

Sorry - but that is MSI P6N 680i - NOT MSI P6N Diamond. To me it seems like just another reference design 680i. Guess MSI just slaps their logo on the reference board to get something out on the market while they design their own board:

P6N Diamond looks like this, and YES it has heatpipes.

For now it looks like MSI will have:

P6N 650 Ultra - details unknown
P6N Platinum - 650i - image already available since november. Not yet seen in stock/reviewed anywhere.
P6N 680i - Reference board with MSI logo? Looks like it to me.
P6N Diamond - own designed 680i with some interesting features. Not yet seen in stock/reviewed anywhere.

wow.. I like both.. I was thinking the diamond would be a great fit initially, but the plat looks better a little.. and I like having the slot closest to my cpu being the pci-e 1x slot.. for my raid card. the plat/diamond look like quite a pair.. I am getting fired up for them now. whew!! :D

There is word going around that the Diamond will have on-board X-Fi sound!

it will. google for it!
MSI put a promotional PDF online about the P6N plat/diamond mobo.
it gives a quick list of the boards specs and explicitly mentions X-FI onboard for the Diamond board :)

Interesting little snippet on Bit-Tech (http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2007/01/09/msi_p6n_diamond_will_have_on-board_x-fi/)

The P6N Diamond is based on NVIDIA's nForce 680i SLI chipset, and comes with more than a few surprises. The first surprise is, not surprisingly, the inclusion of Creative's X-Fi XtremeMusic audio chip, arguably giving this board the best on-board sound solution out there.

Secondly, MSI has opted to include two SATA 3Gbps ports with hardware RAID 0 and 1 support. These are in addition to the five native SATA 3Gbps ports with software RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5 and JBOD support that MSI has chosen to include.

This is interesting on two fronts; firstly, the nForce 680i SLI MCP supports six SATA 3Gbps ports and MSI has only included five internal ports, and secondly, native hardware RAID support is a pretty rare feature on modern motherboards. We don't have details on the controller chip used to power the two hardware RAID ports at this time though - that detail should be cleared up by the time the board launches later this month.

Intriguing... :D

Hmm with a bit of Googling, it seems the "hardware RAID controller" is just a Silicon Image Sil4723... I'm not sure on the specifics, but I don't think that's anything special is it?

Any new info on this board? MSI and DFI are pretty late getting their boards out. Disappointing!!!!!
