I just picked up an L27A x6800. Running at 3.8 now 1.625v in bios. 1.5v actual. Idles at 38-40c. 70-74c 1.47v under load.

My questions are.... is this all i should shoot for with air? Do i have enough room(temp.voltage)to squeeze another 100mhz out of it?

What temp should i consider too high under load? What's max voltage would you use?

I'm using an asus striker w/ scythe. I cant wait until Tuesday when my cross ship EVGA 680i gets here. I lost 150mhz oc on a 6600 switching to the asus. Maybe i can gain another 150 on the 6800 when i switch back to the EVGA.

I would not be cozy with those load temps at anything higher than that voltage. On watercooling, I have been running an E6600 @ 3.7 w/ 1.55v actual voltage, and it loads around 56c. I think that is a little hot for my voltage, but it's been great and solid for two months now. So I dunno...
