finally.......tho not much said -
RD600 > 680i in 3D Benching
but....
680i > RD600 in Spi
So Intel still winning in the number crunching game....

I'm guessing they were commenting on an apples for apples view......were talking motherboards here not graphics cards

don't you just love the retarded placement of
SATA 3.0GB/s, with a PCI-e right between em :p:

Will you be using 3rd pci-e slot? :)

yeah, the SATA ports are badly placed. That is what i picked out immediately.

Dude, did you checkout the angled SATA headers near the SB? :toast:
The RD600 has 4x angled SATA vs 6x angled SATA on the nF680i.
Also, the nF680i is gonna be quite expensive than the RD600. I heard the nF680i chipset alone costs around $80 vs about $30 for the RD600 chipset.
Now... where are those modded G80 drivers? :D

Isn't the 3rd slot the second PCIe x16 slot while the 2nd slot is x8 or something?:stick:
At least on the 680i boards that’s how it's layed out.

Btw, just noticed that the RD600 board in the pictures doesn't have a BIOS chip. Perhaps Sham took it out before the pics?

He probably doesnt have a final bios yet - it also could be a sata bios chip.

Anyone else noticed floppy power connectors for both PEG x16 slots on both of the boards? Hope we don't have to use these as it makes for messy cabling...

You can also read the little bit that is being said in the preview.
Instead of the PCIE 1 & 3 design on the NVIDIA Reference 680i SLI Mlotherboard, this board runs the 2 x16 PCI Express lanes on the first 2 slots, leaving the last slot a x8 for Physics.

It might look messy but it would be stupid not to use them, as on any board that has them.
Glad to see these side by side.

Not really.
Using the 2 extra connectors on my Ultra-D made no difference whatsoever to my overclock. So they're useless (at least to me).
Also on the nF680i board, the floppy connectors are next to the 1st and 3rd PEG slots, but not the middle one; that's odd if in fact the top two are x16 and the bottom one is only x8...

I miss the horizontal RAM layout of the nF4s....

That is almost impossible to design with a CPU without a memorycontroller integrated, a nf4 Expert design could be done I think.

So test and see if they help you, for power hungry cards they may help, but maybe not, depends on the card really. I prefer to have the option rather then not having the option.

Oh well, 8x+8x PCIe then.
3 PCI Express x16 slots for ATI CrossFire and ATI Physics
2+1 Configuration (2 Graphics + 1 Physics)
- 2 ATI CrossFire graphics cards (each operates at x8 bandwidth).
- 1 ATI Physics graphics card operates at x2 bandwidth.

One week isn't going to kill you, is it? In any case, I do bloody hope that they do ramp up more production as I need this board yet it's not so bloody available :(

i wonder which mobo dfi or abt (or other) will run the cpu and chipsets coooler????????
also seems to be stability issues for p5n-e at higher fsb (500) i reckon/hope dfi will have betta power regulation than asus as usual...
edit: Abit in9 32x-max is my current favourite...so where is the info. on dfi 680i?
