I am away at school and while I'm at home I just have a pos Multimeter. I need one while I'm up at school so I guess I should get a good one. Im in Buffalo, NY and the only real place I know if is Sears or online, but well I really need one asap. I keep getting random system restarts.
From what sears has on there website, what do you guys recommend, even though I want a good one, I still don't have a ton of money to spend. keep it fairly cheap. like $170 max. But the cheaper the better.

i dont think most people need to spend 150$+ on a digital multimeter
a lot range from 20-60$ only thing you really benefit is functions? look for what you need unless you want to buy the best i guess

Fluke is good but... I don't think you'll find any Fluke DMM under 200$ :P
I don't think that he needs such a good DMM only to check his PSUs rails :D

Actually there are a number of Fluke DMM's priced under $200. I think most of the 110-series is under $180.
@Vinny77
The only Fluke model in the Sears catalog that's in your price range is this one (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?cat=Electrical+Shop&pid=03481380000&vertical=TOOL&subcat=Multi-Meters%2C+Testers+%26+Accessories&BV_SessionID=@@@@1619613564.1165719539@@@@&BV_EngineID=cchhaddjigldjfhcefecemldffidfko.0). But it says it's out of stock for delivery. That model has been discontinued. But if you search online, you'll find other Flukes in the same price range. The Fluke 114 (http://us.fluke.com/usen/products/Fluke+114.htm) is around $125 at some e-tailers.

Oops, my catalog here starts from the 150 Series.
No lower ( so I thought that they decided to discontinue the 11x series :D ).
I'd look for a UEi as an alternative
