As far as specifications go the Radeon X1950 Pro GPU has the same 36 pixel shaders with eight vertex shaders and 12 pixel pipelines as the PCIe counterpart. Additionally the Sapphire X1950 Pro AGP card has been slightly beefed up. Instead of the typical 256MB of video memory Sapphire has equipped its X1950 Pro AGP with 512MB of GDDR3. The memory is clocked at 700 MHz instead of the default 690 MHz. The core clock receives a small little bump to 580 MHz over the default 575 MHz as well.

Great news indeed, and a very very smart move by Sapphire, single handedly putting out the fastest ATI AGP card on the market.

nowdays

the AGP users are always confused

1.long waitng for a low performance/cost card
(X1900XT 256MB is defintely better for that price)

2.no high-end

3.and they have to pay more money for the extra chip on the card

The question is how will these do for folding? I can for see a big boost in stats if we can all convert our old tired AGP rigs into burning fast GPU folders. :woot:

the x1950 pro agp looks to be better than the 7800 GS agp counter part. this might be a good solution for my old s939 8x agp system.
