have you tried 9x?
i got BSD @ 9 x 370/380/390400...
how does the p5b-e plus compare to the p5b-e ? because its like the same mobo donly diffirence i can see is thats its black. The price here in holland is 155.90 for plus and 139.90 for normal -e. So i'd realy like to know how it is, especialy with quad core. Could you plz try if the fsb with c2q also goes up to 600, or is this max fsb ?
thanks

I believe the main difference lies within the vdimm settings. The deluxe and premium flavors have higher options.
With that said if you have some DDR2 that can push some good frequencies without a lot of voltage, the P5B-e is a good choice.

Give us your max ORTHOS stable frequency - all 4 cores loaded. At least 4 hours. Please (I realize this is a time taker) - if you can't supply this info, no big deal. Thanks.

That's more expensive than here in Finland  Here the QX6700 is 970 euros (=little bit under 1300$).
Yep, just checked prices in Europe
UK oem cpu: £700 ~ $1350
Germany: 930EUR ~ $1200
This includes high VAT/sales tax
heh, newegg is ripping US guys off :p:

yah, it is all newegg.
even amazon had them in stock for a bit at 1100 with free shipping (retail).
there are other us retailers only charging ~1100ish.
erwinz, quad core kentfield with 1.45vcore and 8800gtx only pulls about 400W. It isnt like these things demand insane power supplies.
His zippy would have no problems handling another 8800gtx.

Newegg is really screwing you guys. Order from Ncix up here in Canada. I got my X6700 and a Bad Axe 2 for $1575 CDN, plus they threw in a free copy of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Just waiting for TT120 to show up to throw everything together.

Interestingly enough, Theinquirer.net did some test with two 8800GTX's in SLI, a 680i motherboard, and a X6700 and found that the power usage never peaked 500 watts! Seems like the power consumptions stats for the G80 were highly exagerated.

i got BSD @ 9 x 370/380/390400...
the board i had was a p5b-e , so not the plus version , didn't try multi 9 but multi 7 x500 , he didn't do that.
maybe jou should try 450x8 , running between 380-400 is on the lower strap maybe the board got some trouble with that.
p5b-e without the plus got same bios options as the deluxe, also 2,45v on the memory.
the drop is huge on the B series , also on p5b deluxe, running 400x9 here @1,52v bios with 8800gtx @ default and same score 2006 (12300)

What kind of cooling are you using that is allowing you to pump that much vcore into the cpu? I have mine running on a P5WDG2 WSPRO at 3.5GHz @ 1.40vcore and with good water cooling and my temps are a little scary. After seeing this thread, I'm gonna drop the quad core in my P5B.

I just dropped my kentfield into my P5B Deluxe running 0804 bios but in the bios it's not making any mention of it being at Quad Core Extreme 2? Also, for some reason the temps being reported by coretemp are almost 30 degrees higher than what Asus probe is showing me and at idle running at stock speed it's showing from 51-57 with core 0 close to 57 consistently??? Any ideas?
