after doing a few stability tests, I determined that I'd back my 24/7 settings down a bit from 3.1GHz to 2.933GHz with FSB and RAM scaling accordingly until the next official revision of my BIOS(with which I hope for a very solid 400+FSB)

CPU is undervolted via cystal CPUID to 1.3V (1.248V after vdroop according to cpuz)

I never really noted temps but I checked them just now and I am thoroughly impressed. ~25C with a few background services running.

also, I need to lap my IHS... it is rather concave, last mounting made nearly nill contact temsp were around 10-15C higher...
so do I get something for extremely chilly air cooling or what?

cooler: scythe infinity w/ stock fan
case cooler master centurion 5, stock fans(soon to be supplemented/replaced with yate loons)

this is from southern California, it's a little cold right now since it's winter, but I can still walk around in a T-shirt so it's not that cold.

Hi dude... i heard the lastest Bios for DFI infinity is quite good.. can boot above 400 FSB. BTW i believe your chip can go further .. you just need a better MB .. like 965 .. just a suggestion .. :D

ohh i certainly do realize that.

i'm just waiting for an official BIOS to avoid the quirks. I don't want to risk the board dying...

and i just took a screen right now... it speeks for itself. It's also cold as shid around here at 7AM apparently...

It just seems extremely strange that the system temp would be higher than the core temperature.

scythe infinity=HUGE HSF

cold ambients +huge hsf=chilly cpu

the southbridge on my DFI infinity is cooled by a small ceramic plate and i don't have a tornado of fans pushing air in so that's probably the reason...

Oh well, to each his own.

too bad you are on 975 - with a real motherboard an e6400 is just getting warmed up at those speeds.

I make 7.50 an hour and am a highschool student. My parents make me put over half of my paycheck into savings, they make me buy a lot of my own stuff and I'm broke. I'd much rather put the money towards a better GFX card than a new board due to a bad flash

I just like warranties...

voltage and Bios (and possibly northbridge HSF) will be changed as soon as the new BIOS is out...

and besides, what is wrong with Xtremely low temps on air?

If I can I'll aim for a nice bench at 3.6-4GHz should the BIOS allow.
