Hi all, got me some new ram the other day and already beat my old overclock with my Opty 165.
I would like some help to try and acheive 305fsb using my G.Skills PC4000HZ, DFi SLi-D and my Opty 165.
Now my Opty has the stepping 'CCBWE 0551 WPMW'. now looking at the overclocking charts on this forum
this chip can possibly go to about 2.75GHz, tbh i aint fussed about getting 3GHz. dont get me wrong id love
to but with this stepping it seems unlikely.. anyway, my current oc is:

now is there any settings that i can change? i mean what ram settings would you reccomend? should i go any higer ram voltages?
different devider? (Currently 3/4)

Anyway, thanks for any help :D oh and i will be going watercooling :)

PS. sorry for the large image :)

just add more volts for cpu and you should get some extra mhz from your chip.
and for the memory i have found that for that particular memory over 2.84v whont give any extra overclock but that memory will go pretty easilly 275mhz with stock settings, and if you want, to by loosening the timings you can get it all the way to 285 if you know what you are doing. allso you can get some pretty tight timings out of it, a actually just tested them at 2.5 latency and got this

not too bad for a 2gb memory kit

Managed to get it to 2.872GHz which I think is good for the stepping, also broke 30 seconds on superpi!

Im getting watercooling; currently modding a new case, Temps are around 45 idle to 50-55 Full. The V.Core in the bios is 1.450 but in CPU-Z it is 1.6v so im a bit confused although i do know mobo's do add a bit of Voltage or sommant, cant remember.

Id love for 3GHz ill try but i realy doubt it.

What it says in that bit in the bio's that tells you what its running at? dunno ill look later. I dont realy mind, just happy i broke my 40s on super pi! plus broke what i thought would be the max OC for the CPU

the bios might be bit srewie and that might cause the incorrect readings in cpu-z.
have u tryed some other volt measuring programs smartguardian etc.
