HI, I'm building an AM2 now and deciding between two CPUs.
I dunno if I should go for a X2 4200+ or an AM2 Opteron with Santa Ana Core (that is Opteron 1212).

I know how it is with batches and stuff, but my problem is, that I cant find any info about how the Santa Ana Opterons OC? Is it the same scenario like with s939 Opterons?

I can get an Opteron 1212 with this batch : CCBYF 0628 SPMW - can I get any intel from this?

Thx a lot for any info or suggestions ...

Why build a semi obsolete AM2 system now? Also wait for the 65nm CPUs atleast.

Just FYI, I'm not certain about this but in another post somebody said that only DFI mobos will recognize the New AM2 Opteron cpu's. So I would look into this just to be sure. I'm putting together an AM2 system soon and getting a low end Sempron to start out and for overclocking fun in the highly unlikely chance I can get a 100% OC on it, since default speed is only 1.6ghz I only have to reach 3.2ghz, but likely won't overclock that far. For a serious cpu I'm getting the X2 5000+ which people have been getting to over 3ghz on air.
