AMD Socket AM2

I´m a bit confused about the "new" AM2 Socket.. will there be a new socket from AMD soon? I´ve read something about a AM2+, AM3 and AMD 4x4 socket. Just asking because i´m going to get a x2 3800+ for my s939 soon and i would like to know, if it´s maybe good to upgrade to AM2 also soon..

Thnx, haven´t read that so far.
So i´m going to stick to s939 till the new socket arrives. I don´t see a good reason for me to change to AM2 just because of DDR2 Rams, that doesn´t even make a big difference in benching and gaming.
