Hi there
I need a name of a software that does clustering.
in short words I have about 12 computers in a LAN and I want to run a program on one of them and use the processing power of the 12
thanks

Uh, don't you think it would be useful to tell us what kind of program you want to run?

Basically any kind of Linux + OpenMosix should do the job.
But if you want to run Windows apps you would need Windows compute cluster server 2003.

Thanks for all the responses

Doing some computations using genetic algorithms
it took almost a week on an athlon XP single PC in a single run

You will have to port the software to some clustering programming model.
Do you have source code? Is it already multithreaded?
If it is multithreaded then you can usually "easily" port it to a cluster model that has shared VM space, in in just a couple months of work. And no standard OS to be installed on the boxes either.
1-How about reading this : http://freshmeat.net/articles/view/458/

2- By chance are you studying medicine? I am studying genetics and have to sit for it on Monday :S
Genetic algorithms are a programming paradigm and don't have to do with biology or DNA.
