I'm fed up with this EVGA 680i. I cant game, I cant Download, I cant browse. the only thing i can do is Over clock it. Now that I've spent money on an Intel CPU and $1400 worth of video cards, what choices do i have? should i go with the older nforce chip set? Intel chipset and use modded vid drivers? or find me a PS3 somewhere and wait for bug fixes for the 680. So many bugs i'm afraid it'll be a while before its right. How well does SLI run with the modded drivers on Intel? Thanks for suggestions

P5W DH is the best 975X board available for a E6600, SLI, & X-Fi

8800GTS/GTX require pci-e 16x for each card. Don`t know what performance hit is on 8x+8x.

There's only one suggestion and you ain't gonna like it... AMD :p:
Or you could wait for Asus P5N32-E, MSI P6N, DFI nF680i etc.

This 680i has become more and more troublesom every day. I just yanked my Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe w/ 5000 x2 Cpu out of my HTPC machine, to get me by untill the 680i matures some.. Only 1400 more points in SLI on 3dmark06 vs single card 8800GTX. 11500 SLI vs 10100 single. Intel is really pwning AMD this time around. Single 8800GTX scores more on 680i than SLI with AMD. (X2 5000 @3.0 vs C2D E6600 @3.6) Does anybody know if the ASUS Striker has the same SATA/RAID issues as the reference boards? Any info at all on the DFI version? MSI says December for their 680i Diamond and Platinum.

I'd go for the Abit AW9D-SLi. Not sure if you can have SLi & a Sound Card but it is the best 975x out, period. Comes with an SLi bridge too.

When I ran SLI on my 680i I used a E6400 instead of a E6600. The scores were about the same, but I would think it would have been higher if I used a E6600.
The Abit AW9D-Max is a nice board too, but you can't run SLI and use your x-fi card with non single slot graphic cards.
The 680i boards have buggy bioses at this time. If you can wait, they may get fixed. Otherwise, grab the P5W DH. Myself I'm holding out for the abit IN9 32 Max. DFI may make a good 680i board that's available mid December. They are also suppose to release RD600, but it's a crossfire board and sli may not be possible on it.
Also, I'm not certain hacked drivers for 975 chipsets support 8800 series cards yet. If not, you'd do better waiting for a better bios.
