sounds like you have one weak core, better drop that overclock unless you want file corruption

yep, shame really.

ps nn, whos the avatar chick? nice choice. :) oh and sorry for being an ass in the speaker thread, bad day ;)

3 hours + prime is good and stable for me.

Vcore is too low. Pump it up. Problem solved.

How?...my friends computer was 3 hours prime "stable" but at least 10 times a day AIM would crash. Lowered the overclock and it was fine.

I don't even test prime. If it's stable it's stable. Waste of time IMO.

As for the solution, Serge is correct. Up vCore a bit, as long as it's within safe limits (1.65v Max 24/7 on Water, 1.6v on Air for Dual Cores.) Then again, heat kills faster than voltage. Just make sure everything is within a good limit. ;)

lol i need at least 12 hour prime stable for me...

I know that.. It just bothers me that one core is completely bogus while the other one rocks. I was just looking how far I could go with low voltage, as I hit 2950MHz before on 1.57v. Not sure if it was stable, stable enough to play games though.

1.6V on air for 24/7 is too much IMO. I never run more than 1.5V (even using phase change) for 24/7 :)

I find 6-7 hours prime enough to call it stable. But when multithreaded games will take both cores to 100% I'll start using that. Few hours of gaming says more than some Lucas Lehmer dude can in a few days.

anyways, up the voltage, problem solved.

I was talkin bout AMD64 (90nm) ;)

learn not to compare 90nm to 65nm
in theory he should be able to do 1.8v on phase

I know, this sucks. I have had about 5-6 dual cores and almost every one reacts this way. And if you want to really check stability, run some dc apps for a long period of time. :)

That's pretty much what I do.

I'd bet anybody that my computer can't pass a 3 or more hour dual prime. But it has never crashed in any application including games.

I have a weird chip.. it's either completely stable or completely not. No in between. 345x9 for 3105MHz passes prime and runs WCG 24/7 fine but 346x9 for 3114MHz fails prime in 10 minutes.

Then again, I have a single core.. sold it though and have a new 165 coming!
