Well, just readed a post from tony saying new "b" cpus do better, and having one around decided to try it on my p5bdl, wich was running another 6400 (l626a443) @ 3.0ghz - Vcore 1.3875 in bios for 24/7. (this cpu max 1m was @ 3,45ghz with 1,61vcore in BIOS)

After the switch to L629b647 cpu:

Cooling: Ninja Scythe - Panaflo 120 @ Slow Rpm @ 16c ambient (AC set for 16c)
Mem: Gskill Cheap DDRII800 1gbpk @ 2.15 vdimm - loose timings
Vcore @ BIOS: 1.6875 :slapass:
NB volts: 1.65
FSB termination: 1.4

L629b is (still finding the sweet spot) orthos stable @ 3.2 (probably will run it there cause of best ram performance with this sticks is limited @400mhz)

Another thing I noticed with this cpu is that coretemp temps reading @full load seem to be up to 10c less than on the A one...

Maybe with better ram or vdrop mod (don't really know wich is stopping me, asi i go from 1mpi stable to no windows over 1mhz above posted 1m run) I can get the magic 4ghz screen

no too hard. I found one. would only do 3.2ghz prime stable. L629B274 i believe. Thats with a storm and mcp 655. My L628B has done 4.23ghz on the same board.

Seems to be 486 with the current cooling and without modding de vdrop at least, will try harder this weekend, but don't really want nor need to push it to far, as it is in my 24/7 box.

Nope, will NOW try to find the mem's limit by setting it at 4:5 in order to see if I can play with lower multis to ry higher FSB. Will try to report back with some screens. ATM it ran orthos blend @ 1.385 in BIOS - 3,2ghz - Mem 400mhz 4-4-4-10 7+ hours.

Not to be stupid, but is there any way to tell before you buy, or is it just word of mouth? All they seem to give is a general item & part number, & no real pictures.
