:) some days ago, read badaxe2 review from shamino.
some mobo has the full trace issue, with only oc 2 core, and leave 2 core at 10x
mulipliter.
to manufactors via bios update could slove the problem.
ths morning, i tested asus's p5b e plus (bios:0304) and gigabyte's ds3(bios:F8i)
seem no problem when oc up to 11x mulipliters.
for ds3 max supported 16x mulipliter,and asus's 965p line max at 12x
i tried to lock mem timing and frequency, found asus is little fast than ds3

set rig
qx6700 b1
asus p5be plus& gigabyte ds3
adata extreme edition 1066+ 2gb kit
matrox 8mb pcie
zippy 850w

before ths test, i have tried higher fsb, didin't affect mulipliters
with 2 mobo, set mem at 800,timing the same, and both without any tweakings.

One question.. You mentioned that you are using F8i BIOS... but why's ur snap shot showing DS3 bios is F6a ?? Isn't F6a should be a long time ago bios??

Have you tried disable the DMI during updating BIOS?

boot screen shows f8i, but cpuz shows f6a, u can see the release day is nov/14/2006, no doubts , that's latest bios , got from gigbayte rd.lol

You have to clear the DMI or it won't update the bios version.
