BF2 & BF2142 have the same WEIRD Problem??

I have a problem with both games, when ever I 1st join any server, every single time the game freezes up for about 60 seconds. the mouse pointer will not move, its very annoying because If the map changes I have to wait 1 minute for it to unfreeze to do any thing, and by then every vehical is gone. Does any one know what causes this? I was wondering if it was the new catalyst ATI drivers? Also I notice this would happen w/ both my x1900 and my x1950?

What mouse are you using? Try generic drivers, if possible.

Do you hear your hard drive plugging away? It could be accessing your virtual memory.

yeah, if you have anything less than 2 gigs, bf is a whore on big maps.

could be the drivers if they are new somtimes i have the same problem with nvidia drivers when they first come out.

Never had this issue with BF2. 2142 on the other hand i did have this issue with. I uninstalled and reinstalled and worked. Thanks, [cTx]SGT.Viper

im still having it with both bf and bf2142, i have a core 2 duo at 3.3ghz 2gb ram, newest catalyst drivers w/ a 1950xtx. I have tried several set of drivers, I also have no software running in the back ground, I dont think its hard ware related, im really confused about what causes it, it only happens when a map changes or when i 1st join a map?
