Are those D9 chips on the ram?

If so, I'm sticking with the DS3.

C2, meaning a new revision? When did that come out?

Can you determine the chipset rev. by a serial number or something on the motherboard?

Has anybody been able to bust the 500FSB barrier with a processor other than the X6800? If so, using which processor and what was your BIOS settings. It seems that my DS3/E6400 is stuck at 420FSB.

I doubt c2 chipset is the reason for the improvement in FSB over the C1 DS3.

I bet the real reason for the better OC is because they fixed the transistor issue that caused the D9 issues on that board before release. Supposedly you will be able to "mod" older DS3 boards with this fix.

niice. my s3 hits 500fsb too, but the temps are outrageous w/ stock hs/f

nowadays, it`s harder to find a CPU without a FSBwall on air to reach those FSB510 ;)

C2 does not make any difference. I am doing 510 - http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/1566/fsb510cx1.jpg - on the C1 board without the resistor change. We hit 530 now with the resistor change and it should go a little higher. The next revision will do even better. ;)

Your 500+ FSB is feasible by using what I call the big boys toy: the X6800. The question that I've got is what is the best FSB using either a good E6300, E6400 or E6600? Have you tried any of these processors in your C1 board? By 'next revision' do you mean BIOS?

I am doing 490~505 with a decent E6300. Next revision is a new board design due out next year. The next BIOS release is scheduled next week.

How difficult is it to make that resistor change?

510 (without resistor change) is damn good. F8i BIOS is really delivering.

whats the highest you can run 1066 strap? My c1 p5b-deluxe tops about 440mhz @ 1066 strap.

Is it possible to run above 400 FSB with strap 1066 with P5B-D? I thought it switched automatically?

Which Clock Generator do I use in ClockGen's PPL Setup with the DS3?

edit:
Would it be the same as the DQ6's ICS 9PLRS587?

i'm pretty sure @ 400 boot fsb, you're still in 1066, then 401 is 1333. I can clockgen from 400 up to 441 before i get immediate prime failure. Its bench stable there though. But i did test 1066 vs 1333 performance, and i saw very very very little difference in 3dm 06 and only .4s in super pi. So i'm just going to use 1333 and 3.6ghz while i'm not doing any thing useful.

dont use clockgen use SetFSB_965

http://www13.plala.or.jp/setfsb/

scroll all the way to the bottom and grab the gigabyte 965P version.

works like a champ and does the same thing clockgen does but its alot easier to use and i dont think clockgen works on the DS3 boards does it ?

edit
he made a brand new one up at the top of the page
more customizations and stuff.
looks good
