Asus P5B-E, E6300, OCZ DDR2-800 ram - running at a measly 2800 (1600FSB). But even at the lower FSB speeds the version of CPU-Z I pulled off of the benchmarkhq.ru site simply freezes my system instantly. Cache latency prog works fine. Anyone seen this on other systems?

I just grabbed the 1.3.7 version of the cpuid website and the cpuz.exe is identical to what I got from the benchmarkhq link.

it doesn't lock my system up completly, but while it is opening my system is a laggy. Once opened it is fine. I have tried it on my lappy and main rig and results are the same with both. 1.36 did not do this, you may want to try it. good luck.

thnx man,
Yes it completely locks my system - it's toast immediately after I try to run it. I'll try 1.3.6 and see if it works, otherwise glad I didn't shell out any ca$h for it.

Yes,
CPU-Z has and still does cause system problems.
Both my D875PBZ and D975XBX lock up if I run CPU-Z, and then Intel IDU.
Others mention that they have problems taking their system out of S3 after running the utility.

Doesn't lock mine either (neither on the P5B Dlx nor P5W64). But like cronic's, my PC gets laggy while it's opening.
