Hi, i'm just waiting to recieve my NF7-S 2.0 to replace my 8rda+ and was looking for some install advice as to the best way to get it performing good. Such as which bios has been overall better, and how to set the bios up. I'll be running this for my system...

Abit NF7-S 2.0
1700+ running 2.4 1.8v in my 8rda+ now and just got it yesterday
Hercules 9700 pro (in transit)
Either 2x256 Ocz 3500 DC or 2x256 Twinmos 3200 BH-5 chips (not here yet) I'll use which ever oc's the best
2 36gb WD raptor's (ordering in 2 weeks)

Any help would be appreciated

where did you get it from?

Some common tweaks...

Softmenu:
cpu interface->disabled

Adv Chipset features?
speed spectrums- there are two- one is AGP-> both off
Install OS with APIC disabled... and leave it that way

These are bios tweaks floating around in the pursuit of high fsb's. Dont think they'll help or hurt either way if fsb remains the same.

Good luck- 1st Abit, but it won't be your last :D

Well, rereading my post... yes cpu interface disabled is a forum tip for higher fsb's, but I also heard board is more aggressive with it enabled. May even be tied in to the elusive 1T command rate... where the hell are you!

But yeah... This is in response to my ". Dont think they'll help or hurt either way if fsb remains the same." statement. If it doesnt help higher fsb's, put it on :D

CPU Interface->Disabled will badly hurt your Sandra memory bandwidth scores, it's the same as Fast/Normal CPU Decode on KT333 boards. Unless you can gain a lot of extra fsb to make up the difference leave it Enabled.

*edit* BTW #ball3r, was it really necessary to post the same question (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12364) again? :rolleyes:
