Got my new 680i up and running :D
However, no windows overclocking for me :(
Major problem with nTune - can't open the "adjust motherboard settings" page in nTune control panel.
It just closes with no error messages or anything when the link is clicked:confused:
Anyone had this and/or know how to fix
Also ClockGen not working with this board...

I have no answer for that problem. I will forward to the Nvidia rep here.

So have you had prob as well ?
There is at least one person on EVGA official board that has same prob...

No, I have no problem with Ntune but I have seen the jumpy mouse problem.
I switched to USB to solve the jumpy mouse bug when overclocked.

...No, I have no problem with Ntune...
Could you confirm if your board is retail ?
Its looking like all retail boards are having this problem...
Haven't heard of anyone who actually has it working other than you ;)
Oh, and what version bios do you have ?

Well put it this way, all the reviews hyped the windows overclocking features, but as it turns out I can't overclock in windows AT ALL as the supplied software doesn't work and neither does ClockGen (yet?)
So it's actually worse than my P5W in that respect
Not a good start for EVGA mobo's :slapass:

Changing memory timings in Windows works. (Think of A64Tweaker)

nTune works for me in windows as well, it doesn't lock up my system or do anything funky. I have a retail board with the shipping bios (P19 I think it is).

Im having problem wit nTune also. I cannot oc the cpu/fsb speed at all, it returns an error and says resetting to stock settings. vcore voltage is not even highlighted and it does not tell me what it is currently at.

Which version of nTune are you guys using? Just wanted to meake sure you guys knew that nVidia released a new version (http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.05.18.00.html) that's dates 11/08/06.

Have tried that version plus some older ones, all are the same
Interesting that some people have it working...
 could it be anything to do with GFX card/driver I wonder? :confused2

I had to upgrade to the latest platform and graphics drivers to get everything working well (as opposed to the nforce platform drivers and grpahics drivers that came in the boxes). Once I did that, ntune starting working just fine from within windows. The ntune I am using is the bozed version. I noticed the update for Nov 8 does not list 680i support (nor 650 either).

why dont you guys oc in the bios? You got all that options available, I would use that instead until Clockgen will support it.

LOL...everyone has gotten so damn spoiled and lazy they want to OC with perfection from within windows. I tell ya, what ever happened to having to whip out the soldering iron to do ANY serious overclocking. Spoiled I tell ya, spoiled :D

Sometimes you don't want to have to mess with a good bios o/c setting and windows may crash, but the bios will be unaffected.
My ntune is sort of working, but not very usefull. Was not able to chnage fsb even 1 number in windows which has no problem in bios. Also readings do not match the bios for voltage and temps. latest Crystalcpuid works a bit for multi changing. latest Everest works ok. latest CPUZ shows no mem section. We need a Memset type tweaker really bad for this board. Ntune has never been very usefull even when it di work. As the chipset catches on, I'm sure we will see something.

Basically all the reviews were saying how good the windows overclocking features are... It sounded nice, much easier and quicker, but then when I get the board, its annoying that it doesn't work
Back to the "Old Skool" bios method ;)
mdzcpa: the drivers on my cd are newer than latest nvidia download ???
(the ide/sata/raid drivers are newer, chipset etc is the same)
What version gfx you using ?

How could they be newer tha 11/9 drivers specific for the 680i? I think you missed the latest release. Check the ftp site.

I looked here: ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/nForce/
The latest version is 9.53 which is the same as on nVidia website and on driver CD
(Although the SATA and RAID drivers on the CD are newer)
Do you have anything newer than that ?
For GFX i'm using latest 'official' WHQL 93.71

Indeed my friend, indeed... :)
Personally, i don't even bother with windows based oc'ing utilities. Maybe i'm afraid of being spoiled and become lazy... :p:

you can't adjust PCI-E voltage in the bios and ntune you can so i want to use the log too but it's impossible!

My Ntune does not work either in exactly the same way that is mentioned above, however there will be a solution to this no doubt either through ntune or via third party utilities.
I installed my board tonight and it has been very pleasent experience up to now with no issues ( the tuniq tower back bracket even misses the caps :) ).
Currently though it is slow compared to 975 clock for clock but I am just starting to tweak.

Yep, there's an ever growing number of people over at the EVGA forum as well :(
There seems to be no obvious reason why some people can run it and others can't
Maybe we will have new version of ClockGen before EVGA/nVidia get it sorted :D

Clockgen will do me fine :)
I have the 449 FBS limit as well which other people have also got .. I think clockgen might get me through that once in Windows.

Nvidia is aware of the problem and has screen shots of the error message.
I have not seen the error on my system yet.

:bounces:
There is a solution now:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=122683&page=5 :toast:
You must have Windows regional settings set to US English :D
Mine was set to UK - it works now :toast:
However, is buggy, lockups when changing FSB, voltages etc.
Wait for new ClockGen... ;)

Does your FSB change slider work ? A lot of people are getting a message saying failed to change the HT message.

True.
I tested today ... and the applied freq through nTune pops up an HT error.
