So the problem right is this. ICH7R or Ez RAID?
I've tried Intel Matrix and Windows hangs at 34minutes to full install during device installation and can't fix it whether i use F6Floppy or ASUS supplied drivers.
Any thoughts suggestions on how to fix this. I've read all the related threads i could find in here but no go...

You can allways try "Bing's" solution,
Enter The Matrix: Slice out and get the best part from your hard drives (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=467848)
seems he had some wonderful results using Intel Matrix Raid, he did use ICH8R intel controller I think, first he set up his array in bios, and rest of stuff once he entered windows. Don't know the specifics but just read the thread and I hope you'll figure it out.

I put mine on the E-Z RAID. Windows installed without a hitch and no F6 drivers. Afterwards I read in many places that the ICH7 will give much better RAID performance, because the E-Z is essentially 2 SATA ports being fed into a single port. I have yet to find a way to move from E-Z to ICH7 without a reinstall.
I have also read that the F6 floppy will contain drivers for several Intel south bridges and that you need to arrow down to get the ICH7 during F6 install. I don't have personal experience with this, since mine are still on the E-Z. I will move them eventually, but a reinstall = :slapass:
For those wondering about moving an array from E-Z to ICH7 I have a 3rd drive that I ghosted the array to. It will boot from the "new" drive on either the ICH7 or J Micron controller as long as I keep my array connected on the E-Z ports. As soon as I disconnect the array Windows will not boot in either regular or safe mode. I have un-installed the E-Z backup manager software and tried removing the array in Windows before rebooting with no luck.

everything booted up fine after replacing that Coolermaster PSU for an Eurotech 560W one, but one of the ASUS X1650Pro Silent GE (http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=2&l2=8&l3=339&model=1333&modelmenu=1) fried with no apparent reason!
Got it replaced and after a couple of runs of 3DMark it started smelling a bit like the previous one... they must be overheating even thought i have a 120mm fan blowing over them.
