nice results, but don't you think the vga will be bottlenecked by cpu at those low speeds?
example:
a 7950gx2 need about 3800mhz on a conroe , lower speed the card is bottlenecked.
ow and please , can you try aquamark3?

11-09-2006, 09:28 AM
Id also like to know the max-voltages as well.
And if the max FSB is 333 it makes me wonder about some of these 680i boards, maybe their using a old bios like for the 590 or something.
Layout looks nice though, think i like it a slight better then the striker, depends on the volts and bios settings really. As easy as i could mod the volts, i think if your paying 300+ for a motherboard now a days, at least make it so i dont have the mod it.

Abit is claiming 650~ Max FSB. Link. (http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/978/)
"Talking about overclocking during our visit, ABIT mentioned that the board should be able to do around 650MHz FSB (an amazing 2600MHz bus speed) but with extra work in the cooling department, you may see bus speeds around 2800MHz. Keep in mind that none of this is proven yet and only time will tell as ABIT spends the next couple months fine tuning their BIOS for the release of the board sometime in Q1 next year."

the Asus non "ROG" version is available on zipzoomfly. It's price at $299, which is acceptable but still expensive. It seems it's just a reference board with the fancy heatsink added. But it does use a different bios manufacturer than evga.
I think ultimately what will make or break these 680i boards are the bios support because they theoretically should be the same. I have the evga board right now and I very worried about their bios support. Asus has a good tradition of releasing bioses really early and really fast. Damn I wish Asus had released their board earlier so I can buy theirs instead of the evga.

Abit is claiming 650~ Max FSB. Link. (http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/978/)
They claimed 470 FSB with AWD9-Max:mad:
I am stuck at 390 so maybe thier 680i board will do 650 - 90 = 540 FSB:)

The abit board is only 5 phase digital PWM, NOT 6.
1 part of the website says 5 another part says 6 ...
It doesn't really matter as long as it's well engineered.

I emailed abit about the 200 boards on ebay, here is the reply.
Dear Paul,
Thanks for your inquiry regarding our excellent IN9 32X-MAX motherboard. The link on the bottom was a mistake and has been removed in order to avoid confusion with a promotion that is only going on in another country for abit. For the U.S., the IN9 32X-MAX will not be available for purchase till January 2007. Be sure to tame the beast then when it comes out!

the Asus non "ROG" version is available on zipzoomfly.
Damn I wish Asus had released their board earlier so I can buy theirs instead of the evga.
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=247122
isn't the layout slighty different? if you check the specs for the non rog board, it uses asus's own oc utilities etc and only bfg, evga, biostar and ecs i believe will use nvidias reference design

January? Ha, ha. They just made my decision a lot easier.
Which is quite sad, cause i was really looking forward to this board.

i hope their bios support is better than what they've done with the aw9d-max.
it's been almost 2 months since they've released an official bios.
other than that, this board does like very nice.
wish things would get back to the nf7-s days!

Maybe he means the ugly, light blue middle PCI-E x4 (electrically I assume) slot?
Looks like a great mobo, but if it's really going to be $350 at launch, that's not gonna bode well with people who could just go out and buy an eVGA or Biostar 680i for $100 less. I hope it will be priced comparably to current 680i boards. (excluding the Striker Extreme and P5N32-E SLI or whatever).

I'm assuming they are late to release b/c they are fixing all the issues that are plaguing the reference and ASUS boards. I've had 4 EVGA 680i boards and a Striker. They released them early without proper QC and are worthless to me. Black, blue, pink, orange i do not care. Just make us all happy. I can guarantee that if they release a properly tested, good working board, you will see EVGA and ASUS boards Shattered in a thousand pieces everywhere. Well, maybe not everywhere, but definitely here (my boards). I will be selling EVGA jigsaw puzzles cheap!

A promissing looking motherboard. I have noticed on the i680, EVGA mobo, the LDT is locked at 8 up/8 down, is this width the same on this board with the nVidia C55 SPP / MCP55PXE Chipsets ?

the only thing about this board that bothers me is the placement of the 4pin molex for extra pci-e power... that's a bad spot for me.. whew.. I do like what I am hearing about this board tho.. seems like it might be the 680i to get.. the DFI's 680i pci slot placement is whacked so I can't use my pci-e 1x raid card with SLI... anyways.. yeah, I'm getting kinda psyched about this board.. :D

What is going on with this board? Tomorrow is the 8th of January so can we expect some results?
I need a damn 680i board asap. I have 2 8800GTXs and the one is sitting in its box collecting dust becasue I have no motherboard to put it on. Currently running an Asus P5W64 WS Pro.
