Wow, temps jumped from 36 Load to 44 Load just by upping from 3.2 to 3.4Ghz ? Any idea why ?

Just upped the Ram to 2.0V (That's all I did) now it's running cooler. Now at 3.6Ghz @ Vcore 1.2375... Orthos now into 17 Minutes no problems. Good enuf for now, back to WCG crunching...
I think I am pleased with this chip...   :YIPPIE: :party3:

Damn! I want one just like it.
Nice chip, try 4GHz on air, should be fun.

yeah....you increased CPU frequency. unless you can tell us what increase you were expecting and why it's pretty usless to talk about what difference you did see...

is that 1.2375 in the bios or after the Vdroop in windows? :D

Erm this is confusing....
I am on stock cooler hence I dont want to run the CPU at greater than 60C
But,
With 1.2V set in BIOS and 1.144 shown in CPUz, 315x9 is orthos stable. 55C load temps.
But in CoreTemp the CPU VID still shows 1.325V
Whats up? Can someone explain?

Unless you set in bio then it's real otherwise the program is not reading correctly. I have same mobo I set to 1.50 cpu vcore but in asus probe reading only 1.30.

Help Please...I wish to setup Raid0 using SATA 1&3 ports (ICH7R). Is this the jMicron controller? If not, where do I get the Intel "Make disk" stuff?

VID is not the same as Vcore
VID is the voltage ID built into the cpu which tells the motherboard what voltage to supply (so basically VID is the stock voltage)

Thanks...I am really pleased with this chip...did I get lucky or what?
B chips are strong indeed, this is my L629B 6600 on cool air, I have posted this already:
I might neeed to lap it since my temps at 1.55V+ are going into 85C at load and cpu starts throttling (in bios disabled)

1&3 are ICHR7....I actually went to intel's website and downloaded the proper intel raid drivers...:woot:
select proper OS

If you are using Win XP Pro....I have the proper files already I can email them to you if you want to?

So these "B" stepping cpus are the ones to get. Are the allendale "B" stepping CPUs equally as good?

Thank you Grinch...I can't seem to get to the Raid config by hitting "Cntrl I" after the post. Perhaps the BIOS setting must say SATA Raid huh?
I just loaded another HDD...both are WD's 160 Sata. One is a JD (slow 79.8 MB/S) and the other is a JS (209 MB/S) per HD Tach. I am now using my JS drives, my VM's load much, much quicker...Can't wait till Newegg sends me my SATA300's for my Raid Array. I am spoiled from my Raptors and slow disks frustrate me.
On the JD Drive it took 12 Minutes to load 8 Dime's VM's
On the JS Drive it took just over 5 Minutes.
My Raptors load as fast as I can click the client to start...They are Raid0...I gotta get this HDD stuff straightened out so that I can again focus on OC'ing higher. I temporarily paused to crunch WCG & Dimes.
Thanks again for you your assistance, it's appreciated.:toast:

just cuz i wont let me ego down lol 1.232v 3.6ghz stable.
1.232 is droop voltage. using TAT 100% load which we all know is more brutal than dual orthos
still running but it hasnt skipped a beat yet.
lol.. sorry just had to post that. mines an L617 Step 5 B1
have to check here shortly if its 3d stable but i doubt its a problem.

isn't B1 = ES?
Alexandrus

Exactly, it's even detected as ES in CPUZ.
