I ran 3dmark06 with two different settings and got low 6k scores, is this low?

Asus p5w dh delux
e6700 cooled by zalman 9500
corsair 2 gig

For one thing. Your ram timings look very loose for so low mhz.
I see 400 mhz memory frequency and 5-6-6-18 timings. I dont even think corsair rates any modules that high.

Try 4-4-4-12 and see if that improves the score somewhat.

Thats just one suggestion. However, your scores do not look that out of line, maybe a few hundred points to a under 7000.

Ya it was set to auto for some reason. This memory is supposed to be 5-5-5-15 I think...

I changed a few things and got to 6194 but that is it.

maybe a tad low, but not so bad.

Kind of low if you ask me. Looks like the memory is holding you back. Also, even though I don't think this is a problem with the P5W DH, make sure your Link Bandwidth (in the mainboard tab of CPUZ) is at 16x and not 1x. The P5B Dlx has this problem where it changes to 1x depending on your BIOS settings.

Yup its set to 16x. I am thinking the memory is what is causing it too. If I try and push past 400 mhz on the FSB it just craps out and wont even boot. It doesnt matter how much voltage I throw at the cpu or memory.

Should be a few hundred higher I reckon. Try disabling everything in MSConfig under services and startup but leave the following enabled:

Error Reporting, Event Log, Fast User Switching and all the WMI stuff at the bottom of the services list. As for startup, leave NvCpl and RunDLL enabled.

Make sure that the GPU is running in performance 3D mode, and not throttling to LP3D.

What drivers are you using?

It seems a bit low.

-----My system---My65Bug system

MoBo---P5W DH---P5W DH
CPU----E6600-----E6700
Mem---1Gbyte----2Gbyte
Clk-----3250Mhz--3644Mhz
GPU----7900GT---7900GTX
Core---640+50----702+50?
Mem---1840Mhz---1760Mhz

3D06---6666------6194
SM2.0--2702------2329
SM3.0--2594------2455
CPU----2774------3111

I suppose the My65bug's 7900GTX has a standard GTX delta clock of 50 Mhz.
Given the fact that the CPU score looks O.K. it seems that the 7900GTX is not working properly.
Especially SM2.0 is low, and that with a GPU clock that is much higher than mine.
Try with lower Mem and Core clocks, and see what happens. If my clocks are too high, scores are going down.

Sounds like yours is throttling t0?

Also...make sure GPU is set to high performance. :)

Your CPU is running faster, but my CPU scores better.
My GPU is running faster, but your SM 2.0 and 3.0 scores are faster.
Can you understand that, I can't.
But at the end our scores are quite comparable.

Your GPU clock of 590 Mhz, is that before or after the delta clock?
My clock is 640, with a delta of 50 Mhz. Futuremarks shows a clock of 690Mhz which is somewhat misleading.

I haven't made any optimalisations at startup or anything else. It is just starting the system and give it a run.

I guess it`ll be after the delta.. the BIOS has the delta set to zero.. my ROP and shaders are running 1:1 with the core.

I havent looked at our score comparison, i`ll have a look now. Its possible I`ve disabled things that started to eat into performance.

Well I will try that when I get home. I can try dropping the overclock on the 7900gtx and see if it picks up a little. Funny thing is she doesnt get hot at all. The shut down is 110 degree's and idle she is at 35, under power its like low 50's. I never hear the fan kick up to the higher speed.

P.S. This is the second video card in this rig. The first one was DOA. Maybe that was telling me something.
