View Full Version : Link to my blog in my sig is interpreted as advertising?

Hi, please see my sig... I have a link to my watercooling project workblog in there which was working up until today... why would that be considered advertising... it's not commercial in ANY way.

Can someone please fix this?

4. We do not permit advertising of any kind.
This includes offering items for sale or trade (other than in the Classifieds). Posting to your homepage, an eBay URL, a URL to another site, or announcements of new sites. This applies equally to commercial and private sites/ads. This is also not to happen within user signatures. Links to deals available online are to be posted only in Online Deals & Sales. The only allowed links in a signature will be links directly related to XtremeSystems, Xtreme D2OL, Xtreme Folding@Home and XtremeSystems affiliated website or organization. If you wish to link to your site, you may do so in your usercp which links in every post you make.

There are quite a few known members that have been granted permission.

We will come up with a bit better rules for links in sigs. I feel the XL should be able to link w/image, XIP with text based link. This would include links to other sites they represent. As far as members blogs, we will discuss this a bit more as I feel it should be ok but I dont want to make a decision without the staff involvement.

Right now usercp is the correct place for members to link up blogs, this may change.

Xtreme Legends are the guys with the green names.
They got this title for doing superb overclocking work over a long period of time. Furhtermore they have to be kind and friendly and the like.

Xtremely Important Persons are also kind and friendly people that got the title because of being of good help, their oc work, writing good guides and mods and things like that.
They have blue names.

Then there are admins (red) and moderators (black).
Members of ctx have purple names if I am not mistaken.

I tried to find the thread with all xtreme legends listed, but unfortunately I cant find it :/
