Hello, My Hitachi 7k80 is idle 44ºC (111ºF) outside the case...if I touch it, it feels hot:rolleyes:
is that normal?

Wow.. thats almost hotter than my 10k fiber channel drives outside of the case!
I've never owned any hitachi drives other than laptop (ibm/hitachi deskstar) models, but it's within their operating range. Still seems kinda hot for a drive (and 2mb cache one too right?) that touts low power consumption

Perhaps the bearring are dying on you

@nn_step: Im not a english native speaker (Im from Chile), what do you mean wieth the bearring are dying on you?
The ambient? hum...25ºC (77ºF)
Here is a Pict of the SMART on Everest Home Edition, everithing seems to be okey, but Im surprised, cause some values are over the "umbral" but any way are "Ok"...
what do you think?
