I have a small form factor computer, an Aopen EZ-18 NForce2 IGP with a mobile 35w version of the XP2200+ (overclocked) a single 80gb hard drive and combo cd/dvd drive. It has a 220w psu but i want to put in a 6800XT or 7600GS AGP card for LAN gaming and also upgrade the RAM. i don't expect the psu to handle the newest cards. I was of replacing the psu with something like this:

It's actually overkill on specs but looks like a really good value and I don't see anything cheaper that looks good. Of course it won't fit in the case since it's a full-size psu, but I wasn't worried about that anyway, my system will breathe better without the default psu hanging over the cpu socket anyway. Anyone have other suggestions around that price point?

Go for it...hipro's under $50 are a steal...they're not fortrons but they'll handle the load fine.

My usual test for non-branded PSUs is to see if half their power is what i need...your comp doesn't need more than 250W power, therefore it would be fine...though thats a tad pessimistic...the Hipro line is actually not bad at all.

One of the reasons why is the amount of amps on the 5V rail alone..

BUT THEN THERE"S THESE:

Thanks Perkam, I have read so much about ultra-expensive psu's but I'm not as familiar with cheaper ones. I just need something temporary till I get a new rig put together, thanks for the input. BTW, I was looking for something cheap because there is a big (for around here, lol) LAN party on Nov. 10-12. Battlefield 2142, UT2004, and a few others. Integrated graphics is really boderline for just UT2004.
