I'm looking for Volterra VT1115 regulator chip data sheets or anything useful for helping with a mod idea or something else that I could solder on as a replacement

Had a quick look the on Volterra website and they want me to sign a NDA before they will let me near any data sheets :). You could try some of the data sheet search engines if you know the full part number or you could try signing up as a student and see if they will give access.

I tried signing up as a student but absolutely no go with that method :(

Right then they probably do some checks so signing up as a fake company wont work the only other thing is to hit the datasheet search engines or find someone who would have a legit reason for signing up. :(

What is the IC being used to provide nn_step?

Its the digi pwm chip used on some of the dfi boards i think.

Actually it is the Voltage regulation chip that controls the PWM. Understanding it would give absolute control over voltmods. I noticed this Chip on a couple different boards, so my logic is: figure this out and we will have voltmods for atleast a dozen Mobos

Well I have not had any luck so far. There are sites that can acquire any data sheet NDA or not but they charge for the service. I got some LCD TFT panel data sheets of them a couple of months back as Samsung didn't want to help. What you are going to need is someone who works in the electronics Industry I am sure that there are some members here who might help. If you have got the full part number hit some of the surplus component sites put in a fake quote and ask for the datasheet.

Totally understandable don't want to get you Into trouble. I would wait a few weeks see if you get any news. If not I would say It is same to assume that they don't want to know.
