What the hell would cause my media keys on my keyboard to stop working?

My media keys on my keyboard don't work and its pissing me off My volume up and down and my mute works perfectly also does my hibernate button but all the other ones won't work I opened up the keyboard and it is making contact with the film and the keys i am worried about are the next and eject buttons they worked in winamp before and they just aren't working. Its annoying I usually have to change songs while gaming and I don't wannt alt+tab anymore anyone would know of a fix for this?

Two things you need to check:

1) make sure the service or background app for the keyboard is running.

2) make sure "global hotkeys" is enabled in Winamp preferances

yes to 1 and no to 2 and it still doesn't work. I just don't get why some of them would work and others not.
