Hi every one
just moved my sony dvd writer from an old system to main rig (the one in the sig)
but the dvd wont open so moved back to the old one it also refused to work
send it to sony and resived it today same issue works with the old and when pluged with the new it wont work the bad thing is that when i use the same rail to power extra hard disc or cd writer it works fine with no problem
so is it the DVD or PSU or may be they dont agree together
BTW i get that dvd moved a lot (to friends of course)
All the rails perferctly stable according to Auss probe

for the hell of it, just try a differen plug off your power supply.. maybe the connectors on the inside of the plug you been trying are spread out a little too much and not contacting good with the cdrom... honestly, if it works with other devices (hard drives, ect), not really sure. but for the 10 seconds it takes, it's worth a try to try a differen plug.

Well I marked the damaged rail then connected to a rail that was originally connected to 3years old CD writer and working fine
Guess what the DVD died again (that is the fourth one :) ) got them all replaced any way
then I figured out it is not the rail it is the whole PSU the bad thing is that we have a week vacation here in Egypt so I wont be able to replace the PSU for a whole week
