Alright... I'm building tonight and probably going to give my attempt at overclocking. I've been looking around for results of similiar builds but couldn't find any with my heatsink, which I'm really looking for. So, I'll ask here before I build incase someone has a setup like this.

If you have the Thermalright XP-90 and a build similar to:
Core 2 Duo E6600
ASUS P5B Deluxe
2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800

Can you tell me how you did with overclocking? :)

please excuse my coming words but i don't mean anything bad

i really hate such threads, u SURE know that every system differs from the other, specially with E6600 retails, laso depends on the brand of the PSU u r using, the ambient temp in ur room, which fan u gonna use on teh heatsink, and the most important factor how much are u familliar with overclocking using ur mobo and ram ???

the best thing to do is install it and do ur best in finding the maximum then report back with ur results and settings and see if anyone can help u squeeze more mhz from ur system

again i don't mean to be rude and sorry if i insulted u in anyway

Don't worry about it... I only named what really makes a difference in the end. Of course, the PSU, the case airflow, the ambient temp will all make a difference in the end, but there fairly negligible as far as I can tell in comparison to the parts named.

Now you're making the small assumption that I'm waiting on an answer that should tell me exactly what my results should be. I'm not. I'm simply trying to get some numbers so I can have them float around in my head in anticipation until tonight. Then maybe I can daydream about getting an equally good system if not better.

As for the heatsink fan, I'll be using a Thermaltake Smart Case II 80mm.

Ok?

well honeslty if i will get a setup like urs i will be dreaming about 3~3.2Ghz @ a little more than stock voltage for 24/7

but for sure will see what can i get from it @ stock voltage before increasing it

and i have seens a thread where the owenrs only gave it 1.1v and was able to reach 2.8Ghz as far as i remember
