I need a just a couple of fans to replace a couple of current ones I have, and I can't believe how ridiculously expensive they are!:slapass: :slapass:

I bought these from newegg when I just re-did my rig, but I was wondering if there is something quieter and close in price?

I did a search and all these "quiet PC" sites have some Papst and others for like $15-$20 each!!! :nono:

Jab-tech has some good, cheap 80mm fans that are pretty quiet. Check out these:

Arctic Cooling ACF8 (20 dBA/28 CFM) (http://jab-tech.com/Arctic-Cooling-80mm-Fan-ACF8-pr-3295.html)
Coolermaster SAF-B83 (26 dBA/32 CFM) (http://jab-tech.com/Coolermaster-Case-Fan-SAF-B83-pr-2681.html)

I'm pretty sure there's nothing much quieter you can get for less than $10+. If you really want them to be quiet, you could always undervolt them to 7v.

Check out the nexus (http://www.nexustek.nl/) fans, they are made by yate loon but are made to nexus' specifications - they are the most silent fans on the market in both 80mm, 92mm & 120mm variations

Also check out SPCR's recommended fans section (http://www.silentpcreview.com/article63-page1.html)

why not just get a fan controller and turn down the voltage on your current fans??

Nexus fans are produced by Yate Loon, so if you get low-rpm Yate Loons and undervolt them you'll basically have nexus fans, so long as you don't get an "unlucky" one which has low-volt noise artifacts as some fans do...
