7600GS vs 7600GT Which is better?

The GT is faster, other than that they are the same card.

7600GT:
core - 560
mem - 700

7600GS:
core - 400

mtl_hed is right that they are basically the same card but most 7600gs's out there only have ddr2. If youre going to buy one then get the faster gt.

7600GT is faster but I wouldn`t buy it ... wouldn`t buy 7600GS either
1)7900GS is faster than 7600GT and costs about the same (if got more cash)
2)7300GT DDR3 cards are very very fast. Only ~10-15% slower than 7600GT (if can`t afford 7600GT/7900GS)

or rather...just dont' waste you rmoney now...i'm sticking with my x800gt until the x1900gt/x1950 pro's fall in price...you can do the same for the 7900GS/7900GTs.

If you are ati-fan:
Wait for drives to mature on X195 series before buying...so wait 1/2 months.

If you are nv fan:
Wait 1/2 months for G80 to push prices down...remember 7900GTX being sold for $250 as GTO ?? its going to happen to entire product line.

Spending money on any video product in october or september was like driving straight ahead on a turn on a mountain road.

Thats what I would do. Unfortunatly for me my rig died llast week so I cant really wait for prices to drop. OP, if you need this now then definetly spring for the extra cash for the gt unless you can get a 7600gs or 7300gt with ddr3 or more memory.

x1300xt, 7300GT GDDR3, x1600PRO, 7600GS or 7900GS, 256MB all the VGAs, or buy a low end card and wait the DX10 VGAs...
