Does anyone use this sticks?
I am currently maxing out at DDR 920 with 2.15v 5-5-5-15. Just wondering if there is any more head-room for more ? I was thinking if it is my P5B-D limiting, so just want to ask if anyone has this ram in their system.
I believe it uses the elpida chips, not the new revision 2 that uses D9.
Thanks for any input.

im hitting the same, and more volts doesnt help, raising volts past 2.2ish cause extreme instability. im fairly dissappointed with this ram.
btw, the new rev doesnt use d9, it uses the newest rev of the same chip of this ram.

that's probably the last thing I like to hear. Time to look out for some g.skill HZ.

yeah, im really waiting forward to when i can get the money to ditch this ram.
and the crappy thing is, its the ram thats holding back my cpu, i cant raise htt further because lower dividers are fubarred.

RAMs are so expensive these days. Will there be a day when the HZ comes down to $200.... i wonder...

Rev 2 does not use D9.
It does not use a "Rev. 2" of Elpida either....they are a totally different Chip.

If its not Elpida or micron, what IC's are they? :stick:
Must be some weird chips because some chipsets dont like this IC's

Mine doesn't boot at 978mhz despite higher voltages, loosened timings etc. Tightening the timings at 778mhz was also largely unsuccessful.
PS. Rev 2 Platinums

I see you have P5b-dlx, 965 chipset.
This chipsets dont like this sticks, you probably can clock your memory much more on a differend chipset.

Sounds like that might be the case, or maybe I just got some duds. Who knows, I'm quite happy with the performance at the moment, as the CPU is the limiting factor in the overclocking.

have you people noticed you get higher clocks on HALF the ram.
we have 2x1024 sticks, you have 2x512 sticks, world of difference when overclocking.

its a new rev elpida chip is it not?
do the new chips not use EDE5116AHSE chips?
with the old chips being EDE5116AFSE.
first ones being Rev F, and the new ones being rev H.

They generally don't like a lot of volts, I can run close to 1000 here on a crappy AM2 board (gigabyte NF570) at 5-5-5 with 1.9 - 2.0V. More than that just doesn't happen.
No C2D for me yet....maybe soon :(
