Hi,
As the title says, I've got a bug in my monitor. It's sitting between the front glass plate and the panel itself. It has been there for some months now, but it is really p...... me off! In the beginning (less than one day after it entered) it was alive, but now it is dead and stuck at the same place.
It got inside the monitor one hot summer day together with a few other flies (in Denmark they are called "thunder flies", I don't know the english or latin name). The other flies found out, but one died in there!
I have tried to shake the panel and tap on the glass plate (quite hard actually), but without any luck.
The monitor is a Dell 2005FPW - I have talked with their support, but this problem isn't covered by the warranty!!! :slapass:
What the should i do? It MUST go away now!

Is that an LCD display? I don't know how it got under the screen, that seems weird. I guess your has a layer above the display. It should be easy enough to remove, just open up the monitor, unhook the cable from the display board to the power button and any other wires that might be there and the display should come right out. If you do have two screen layers and it's in between, it should be easy to remove.
I wouldn't hit you monitor as you've been doing, that's very bad for it. Just unscrew everything, break it down into peices and take the bug out. Just make sure you screw ALL the screws back in when you close it up.

I've seen that before in a friend's flat panel tv.
You should probably take it apart and see if you can get the bug out.

i had the same problem two months ago, in the same lcd model, hopefully the next day, the bug (a little spider in my case) walk away alone :D
weird thing :/, I thought that the lcd had no space in that part of the screen.

Does anybody know how to take a 2005FPW apart?
When disassembling the panel from the stand, 4 screws is appearing. Despite their removal I cannot disassemble the monitor any further. It seems like the plastic has been clicked/pressed together. I don't know how to proceed.
If anybody can guide me, it would be great.
Must be some large holes in those dell monitors..
had the same problem a few weeks ago with my 3007WFP, luckily it crawled out again after a few hours. Let us know how it goes removing that bug.
Next time put up spiders around it.

If anybody can guide me, it would be great. You'll have to pull the panel off. It may be secured down, but it can be removed. Just be gentle and don't rip too hard it should start detaching and stay intact. Hopefully after you get that off you'll be in between the two layers and can get the bug.
