View Full Version : No luck with my X1900XT OCing

I just can't figure this out. I've got the 6.9 chuck patch cats installed, and I'm using ATITool .25 beta 15. Anytime I change the slider for either Core or Memory frequency, it goes right back to the default clocks when I hit Set Clock. I've tried the 6.5 cats and the 6.10 beta F@H cats. My first install of the 6.5 would give me limited OCing, and then anything after that wouldn't let me OC at all.

Does anyone have any idea about what I should do?

disable the ATI services.

Such as ATI Smart and ATI Hotkey Poller? They are already disabled.

maybe turn off CCC? you shouldnt have any issues after diabling the services.

I've killed the atiwhatever.exe in Task Manager and all the CLI.exe in Task Manager and still cannot OC at all. I downloaded the 6.10 from Demonoid and they still dont do anything.

did you diable them in services, or just kill them in task manager? youve got to prevent them from starting at all.

I have the ATI Hotkey Puller disabled in Services, but it still starts up with Windows.

OK, I don't have CLI.exe or the other ATI service starting in Windows. The attached pic is myTask Manager. But I still can't OC at all.

I'm also having problems OC-ing my X1900XT

I can get the speeds up pretty high but after a couple hours of playing sometimes it just freezes my system or give me a BSOD. The strange thing is, I've never, ever seen artifacts yet with this card.

I remember with my 9800pro it just gave artifacts when it got 2 hot, but my X1900XT just freezes over an extended period of time without showing any artifacts. I've looked at a lot of X1900 OC guides and I'm using the same method (overclock with atitool, let the card heat up, check for artifacts, repeat)

Is anyone familiar with this?
