As title really, what works well?
Might try and put something into it considering the potential loss of number 1 spot.
How does the scoring work? anything like Rosetta?

No Boinc required. From what I remember AMD were very good, but C2D are prolly better. Points are nice and straight forward, whack on what you can !

Depends on what you can afford, here is a link to cpu prodution datasheet:http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=78389
I found P4s and s939s at great prices. My $50 P4 @2.7 does about 100/day.
Of course athlon x2 and Conroe .
Athlon x2 s939 for ~$200

x2's overclocked to a modest 2.4 or 2.5 are good for around 300 to 330 a day, conroe we dont really have a good estimate although i'd say with both cores blazing ~ 360-400
this program uses a good mix of CLockspeed and Membandwidth.
scoring is straighforward, it spits out a bunch of "atoms" with varying number of rotatable bonds and atoms, every one you crunch gets you 1 point. some take as little as 20 seconds others take 40 minutes but they all are good for 1 point.

I've got it running on one core of my 805D @ 3885mhz just to see how we go.
Other core still running SOB
DX/P4/X2/C2D - all processors you can work with ;)
My Celeron isn't doing good work so I will change it to a full P4 next month :D

With full dedication....and a 'typical' setup (good RAM, nothing great necessarily though), you can expect around:
111pts per GHz on an X2,
60pts per GHz on an A64,*
142pts per GHz on a C2D,
85pts per GHz on a PD,*
45pts per GHz on a P4,*
*these figures are from memory....and rounded up slightly, actual figures are probably slightly lower.

i'll agree for most, altho i think you were a bit high as you said, although Mem timings on the A64's and X2's are very crucial.

X2 - CONFIRMED! (got it here, near 3 Gig, good for around 350 on a 24h day)
A64 - CONFIRMED! (got it on work, 3200+ Venice 2200MHZ ~110-120/day)
btw: celeron 2 ghz / intel 845 / sdram sux :p: updated my server a bit but no need for ddr performance and I still had so many sdram around here that I had to give them a reason to exist :D Maybe doing a BIT more than my 1.7 GHZ celi before but still not worth to call it a cruncher :slapass: 150 in 5 days lol...but running a lot stuff in the backround like irc, antivir etc.

IIRC about my Celly D, it did ~30pts/GHz per day, quite the dropoff from the P4.
My C2D is set for nearly 550 today at 3.7GHz....time per conformer keeps dropping.....tomorrow should be even higher :D ;)

yeah my core 2 duo does around 430 a day @ 3.4ghz

Yeah, turns out looking at time/candidate isn't a good way to judge since it doesnt account for the 30ish seconds it takes to grid before each candidate....mine only did 481 yesterday with a low 313sec-per-candidate.....is still on pace for more than that so far today, possibly even 500 (did 383 through 18 hours).
Still a solid 130+ per GHz per day :)

Assuming you have a Conroe, is it best to run two clients, dedicating a core affinity to each, or one client using both cores? I'd assume the former.
