Hey,

I have an annoying problem; my browser stops working after some random time. I'm clueless here. There are numerous reports on similar subjects if I google but I have yet to find an answer. The strange thing is that googling works just fine, but entering a web-page doesn't.
(pinging the page works fine)

Setup:
Suse 10.1 64bit
asus p5w dh deluxe
E6600
D-Link router

The other computers on my network doesn't suffer from this problem....

Any help would be appreciated.

let me guess, did you install the latest Marvell driver? From microsoft i believe that has it in their update.

Dont do it, stick with the original on the driver disk. I had something similiar like that too. It would lose the ip at random times.

it seems to have problem maybe in your browser, try another one like firefox.

if it dose'nt solve the problem, make a call to your internet company support and ask them to check your line and update the DNS servers.

Please never call your ISP and ask them to update their DNS servers. If you have a *single* web page that you can't get to, it *may* be because they changed IP addresses, but if the webpage was worth seeing anyway they would have thought of the convergence time and had hosting under both IPs for the day or two it takes anyway. Wasting phone support time this way just makes everyone else who has a legitimate issue wait longer.

Helpful reply to the issue that I got for the OP from the guy sitting next to me:

It is much more likely that the problem you are having is reisdent to your machine, the first thing you want to do is clear your cache and see if you are able to even find any websites, the next is to check that you are not for some reason trying to access some website that is local to your companies internal network and not open to internet web browsing, failing all that, try to access it on another computer in your house or see if someone you know is able to access the website.
