Damn!
I saw a post somewhere, where the writer analyzed his high cpu temps on his laptop. He opended his laptop, saw there were some blank spots between his heatpipe & heatsink. He filled them up with some TIM & he managed to lower his temps by quite a large margin...

lol the NB chipset on my p5wdh was touching the 975x die by about 1/20... literally

I just popped open my mothers old laptop. She stopped using it because it always rebooted or shut off. There was NO TIM between the CPU and the heat pipe. Its been on for about 4 weeks now.

no TIM doesnt mean it was making bad contact, though.
The heatsink on this thing is barely enough for the T7400ES and X1800 its handling now...
