Now because I'm utterly new to this, the results are horribly inaccurate thus reading the following text would be considered useless. Anyhow, you might as well since you've clicked here.

Problems

I can't seem to control my CPU Voltage, it's on 1.3 now but 1.15~ last night. This could affect the results ...

Having said that, the results are still quite similar. But the Zalman is incredibly quiet.

I actually can't hear it as I type, and the loudest thing in my PC right now is the case fans I assume, or my GPU because theres no other fan :/

First 4 pictures of the Zalman 9700.

So far, temperatures idling are about the same though my CPU Vcore has risen by itself ... so that might be due to that.

Subjectively, very quiet o_O

Crikey thats some messy cabling mate. Maybe if you braded them, you would see better temps.

What do you see full load using tat or coretemp/everest? and is the fan on full or optimum.

Agreed the wires could use some serious work...

Well I really don't know what to do about those wires but I'll try and get something sorted later.

Right now, my temperatures are idling at 42C which is about 5C more than my old HSF. The fan is on as low as it'll go and my PC is so quiet.

Although the temperatures could be that my CPU Voltage has risen to 1.3 whereas it was on 1.1 last night... I tried lowering it in the BIOS but it kept telling me CPU OVER VOLTAGE or something silly because it's as low as it'll go.

Anyone got a fix?

Hey, is this now the best air cooling solution? Does it beat the scythe ninja? I saw in a test it does, but it was running a 2500rpm fan and the ninja had a 1500rpm fan. I'd like to see this vs. the ninja with the same speed (and cfm) fan.

Also, how well would this work on a naked (IHS removed) cpu?
